Many people want to improve their lives. Over the years, I have asked several of them, including clients, what they wanted to improve in their lives and why. We spoke about their dreams and goals and why they wanted those specific things. I have also looked at some survey results related to the topic.
Most people want to be happier
Interestingly, what these people wanted most in life, is more happiness. Even when they stated things like more money, a better house, or a new car, the reason they wanted them, is because they believe those things would help them to be happier.
What about you? What do you really want most in life? Why? If happiness is number one for you, then what do you need to make you happy or be happier?
For me, I am happiest when I engage in spiritual practices. When I communicate with God in prayer, praise God, dance to Christian upbeat music, read or listen to spiritual books, especially the Bible, and attend uplifting religious services. I believe God wants us to be happy with him in this world and forever in the next.
Religious people tend to be happier
Results from a recent survey conducted by PEW Research Center indicate that “people who are active in religious congregations tend to be happier and more civically engaged than either religiously unaffiliated adults or inactive members of religious groups.” You can read about it here.
While “being active in religious congregations” is good, what is much better is having a great relationship with God. Nothing will make you happier than having a close relationship with God and living lovingly and consciously with him and others. Having such a relationship with God will also help you improve your life. What do you think? I would love to hear from you. Please share your thoughts below.
